COACHES FOR ESSAY WRITING PROGRAM (9-11 GRADES)
The UCEazy College Essay Writing Program consists of highly experienced essay writing Coaches. Each of our Coaches average 15+ years experience as English and Journalism teachers and professors. All of our coaches have Master’s degrees at the minimum, and go through a rigorous interview process.
Jennifer Brookover
Director of Essay Writing Program
Jen has 12+ years as a college counselor and AP English teacher in Philadelphia and California. Her proficiency in English provides her students an advantage as they draft college essays. As UCEazy’s Director of College Essay Writing Program, Jen oversees one of the most essential pieces of college applications.
Becky Swanson
Essay Coach
Becky Swanson has accrued her experience as an educator in the Midwest working with 7th through 12th graders for the past 14 years. Becky holds a Master’s degree in Education and currently teaches English at an elite high school near Purdue University.
Carolyn Reynolds
Essay Coach
Carolyn has been teaching English/Language Arts and Study Skills for 8 years, ranging from 7th to 10th grade and believes everyone can become a writer. She excels at helping reluctant young writers become empowered and engaged. Carolyn enjoys guiding students to discover their writing strengths and helping them develop skills.
Chris Nielsen

Chris has been an English teacher for 16+ years working with students in grades 8th through 12th. His strengths include helping students from diverse cultural backgrounds grow their confidence in writing. His approach to coaching supports students in finding their voice and writing a compelling story.
Carmen Livingston

Carmen is a highly experienced college educator, who has spent 20+ years preparing first generation students for college admissions through personal essay writing. She has worked as a journalist for publications such as The Syracuse Newspapers and has taught courses focused on research-based writing and argument.
Cynthia Darling

Cynthia has been a high school English teacher in independent high schools for 20+ years. Her treasured role has been guiding high school seniors in writing their college personal statements and supplemental essays. Cynthia has also served as part of the Admissions Committee where she conducted reviews of student writing.

As a long time English teacher and counselor, Gail understands that when students have the ability to connect and write about their story, their college essays and overall applications will set them apart as “unique”. Gail helps students do just that. Find their voice and write their story.
June Sylvester Saraceno

June has an MFA in creative writing and has taught literature, writing and humanities courses at university level for 20+ years. During that time, she earned numerous teaching awards including Nevada’s Outstanding Teacher in Humanities Award and the Ansari Gold Medal for Distinguished Teaching at Sierra Nevada University.
Kaitlin Alexander

Kaitlin is a career educator with a Master’s degree in Education and 10+ years of experience in secondary language arts classrooms. As a remote coach, she works with teens across the globe on both their writing skills and supports students to improve their executive functioning skills.

Rebecca has extensive experience as both a college counselor and a high school English teacher. Rebecca is passionate about supporting students in developing their writing skills and achieving their goals. She excels at building relationships and establishing a positive rapport with her students and families.

Nick has 14+ years of English teaching experience. AP English Literature and Research & Writing are the courses where he has spent most of his career. Nick believes that the ability to communicate, especially through clear, concise writing is an essential skill, one that can be learned and honed with guidance and practice.
