Summer has arrived! Learn how you can continue growing, both academically and personally, to take advantage of this summer and to prepare for the upcoming school year.

8th Graders

  • Start thinking about interesting extracurricular activities that you can begin this summer or in high school.
  • Create a plan to study and learn difficult classes or subjects you have never taken.

9th Graders

  • Be proactive during your summer free time.
  • Stay involved in activities that took place during the school year.
  • Review courses that you struggled with and search for interesting online classes.

10th Graders

  • Be active and plan service or passion projects throughout your community.
  • Despite many changes, plan for the SAT, ACT and difficult classes you are taking junior year through virtual resources, including Khan Academy.
  • Brainstorm opportunities to include in your college essays and application supplements.

11th Graders

  • Determine a list of colleges that you are interested in.
  • Take advantage of research opportunities, online college programs and other experiences to include in your essay.
  • Brainstorm ideas for your personal essay.
  • Consider who you would like to ask for letters of recommendation.

12th Graders

  • Finalize your college plans.
  • Complete any college documents, including orientation and housing.
  • Research ways to get involved as a first-year student.
  • Research your potential upcoming first semester of classes.
