Abby Croft

Admissions Expert

As the Assistant Director of Admissions at Rose-Hulman and Assistant Director of Non-Resident Recruitment at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Abby reviewed thousands of applications for highly competitive engineering, science and pre-med programs. As an academic advisor at Purdue, Abby assists students in choosing classes to make progress towards achieving their undergraduate degrees along with planning for internships, employment and graduate school.

As a college academic advisor I work with students to foster growth, development and maturation that will help them flourish in future challenges. Frequently, my students meet with me to discuss writing assignments, internships, graduate school, campus activities and more. At Rose-Hulman and Purdue I have taught a course for freshmen that helps students explore their interests and learn how to clearly articulate values, aspirations, and expectations for their college career and beyond. Prior to working at Purdue I was the Director of College Counseling and Experiential Learning at Besant Hill School of Happy Valley in Ojai, California and Assistant Dean of College Counseling at Lake Forest Academy in Chicago, Illinois.

Counseling Style:

I care about the journey my students take during the college search and admissions process and encourage them to learn from it in a variety of ways. I believe this process is an educational one, but also deeply personal. My approach is family-focused and student-centered, connecting goals and aspirations to find students their next “home” for four years.

Outside of work I enjoy volunteering at major sporting events, traveling extensively throughout the country. I have worked at over 15 major professional golf tournaments, the Super Bowl, US Open (Tennis), Final Four, as well as many NCAA Division I sports championships.
