Abigail has 22+ years of teaching experience in grades 9-12 English, creative writing, and public speaking, and she holds a Master’s degree in Education. Her impressive work as a literacy consultant allows Abigail to work closely with the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project.
I am currently an English teacher of grades 9 and 10 at a rigorous public high school outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There, I serve as department chairperson and advisor to the school’s literary magazine and creative writing club. Independently, I work as a literacy consultant, helping teachers learn about teaching readers and writers, and I am certified as a Teacher Consultant with the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project.
I love sharing strategies that help teen writers become more confident and turn “ordinary” life events into extraordinary stories. I specialize in helping students of all abilities and comfort levels take risks and express themselves in new ways. Abigail believes that all students have stories within them, and she enjoys helping them find their voice and identity as writers.
When I’m not reading fiction or writing poetry, I enjoy completing DIY projects at home, planning road trips, and snuggling with my two dogs and two cats. I live in Pennsylvania with my husband and three children.
