Becky Swanson

Essay Coach

Becky Swanson has accrued her experience as an educator in the Midwest working with 7th through 12th graders for the past 14 years. Becky holds a Master’s degree in Education and currently teaches English at an elite high school near Purdue University.

I currently work full-time as a English teacher at an elite junior & senior high school just a stone’s throw from Purdue University. In addition to teaching, I am the Junior Class co-sponsor, help to fundraise and plan for Prom, and work on the district’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. My most recent position allows me to work with students in grades 9 through 12. Fostering students’ growth in their reading and writing skills while simultaneously preparing them for life after high school and helping them to become more well-rounded people has become an incredible joy in my life.

Counseling Style

As an educator who has worked with students across a broad spectrum of abilities, I know that the best support comes when I get to know my students and their individual strengths, weaknesses, and interests. Meeting each student where they are is an important aspect in being able to effectively increase their skills.

When I am not working or cheering on my three children at their various events and activities, I enjoy reading psychological thrillers, watching movies, playing the piano, traveling to any location with beaches or mountains with my family, and volunteering with Hospice services through a local hospital.

“JIt was a pleasure to work with my UCEazy coach, Becky Swanson. She was very helpful throughout the entire brainstorming and writing process. She gave many helpful suggestions and thoughts that made my essay something that I am really proud of. My coach was also very nice and would always make time to help me. I am so thankful for UCEazy for helping me craft a great essay that I am extremely proud of. I definitely would not be feeling as confident in my college application as I am now if it weren’t for my coach and UCEazy.”
