Brian has reviewed 60,000+ college applications including BS/MD programs as the Assistant Director of Admissions at Boston University. Brian currently is the Director of College Counseling for an elite private high school near Boston. His background makes him a top expert in guiding students to BS/MD and Pre-med programs.
After originally attending college to enter the field of finance and to run cross-country and track & field, I quickly realized that my future was in a field where I could interact and inspire students on a daily level. As a member of admissions offices for Boston University, Bryant University, and Newbury College, I oversaw recruitment, review and yield strategies for close to 20 different states, reviewed applications for accelerated BS/MD programs, and became acutely aware of some of the differences between the most competitive STEM and business based programs around the country. As a Director of College Counseling at Austin Preparatory School in Reading, MA, I led a complete transformation of a college process that now includes a comprehensive college representative program, a semester long college application and test preparation course, and helped matriculate some of the school’s most diverse and competitive classes to colleges in recent history.
I love the challenge of helping a student bring out their best qualities in an application that make them competitive for any institution. Nuance is important, both in the applicant and in the details of any individual program, and I work tirelessly to assist each family by focusing on the individual; highlighting strengths while also making sure you, dare I say it, have a little fun while working through the process.
When not diving into college essays, I love spending time with my wife Amanda and our daughter Morgan at the beach and on trails with our dog, Stella. I am also an avid runner who has completed multiple major marathons including one ultra marathon, and am a loyal supporter to Liverpool FC and the Boston Celtics.
