Kisten has worked at an elite private high school in San Diego in supporting competitive students get into their dream colleges. With Kristen’s experience at both a private high school and in the medical research field, she has a broad understanding of how to help students think outside of the box. She relies on her strength of connecting with students to support them as they strive to meet their academic and personal goals.
After graduating from college in the Boston area, I worked on the research team at a top ranked hospital as a medical research coordinator. Although I loved my work, I knew I wanted to be a part of supporting young people to become leaders. I got my masters in school counseling and transitioned to a college counselor helping students find their passion, connect that to meaningful activities and guide them towards a career choice that matched their strengths.
I am very perceptive and warm. Students connect with me because I listen and believe that is essential for student growth both academically and personally.
When I am not working with students, I am enjoying my time with my husband and baby girl. Also, as a college level Lacrosse player, I enjoy anything related to competitive sports.
