Laura is a Bay Area native who attended Mission San Jose High School and has 10+ years of experience working both as a counselor and in the college and career center for two of the most highly ranked high schools in California. In her work with students, Laura puts emphasis on supporting students in their development in order to maximize their chances of success for college admissions.
After graduating from Northeastern, I moved back home to work with some of the most motivated and successful students in the Bay Area as a counselor at Menlo-Atherton High School and in the College and Career Center at Los Altos High School. I have also had the pleasure of working as a coach for two elite private high schools in Palo Alto, CA and supporting student athletes through the recruitment process. I recently worked in the fast paced environment of EdTech in order to gain experience working with school districts across the nation. I pride myself in individualizing processes for students to reach their potential and have built in systems for large public high schools to be able to reach more students to support their college admissions needs.
I love connecting with students and parents with the specific goal of meeting their needs. I pride myself in helping students take their goals and ideas and turn them into a reality.
In my free time I enjoy reading, outdoor activities like hiking, biking, swimming, eating/trying new food, museums, and travel. In the pandemic, I have taken up the NYT crossword puzzle and baking cookies.
