Monica is an experienced college counselor with a Masters degree at Harvard's School of Education. Monica has worked 10+ years with students and families and leads a college counseling team at an international boarding school in New York. Monica also serves as an External Reader for UC Berkeley Admissions.
As a first generation immigrant who struggled through the anxiety of the college process first-hand without any guidance myself, I believe that it is my calling to provide families with the support that I lacked when I was applying to colleges. For over ten years, I have worked with students from all over the globe, helping them to gain admissions to elite institutions such as: The University of California, NYU, Northeastern University, London School of Economics and many more. I am deeply committed to helping students find their fit and transforming the stressful process into a positive journey of self-discovery.
I will always be honest and transparent with students and their families. My focus is on helping students to find their best fit. I enjoy using my experiences in both counseling and admissions to demystify the holistic review process and to help students tell their own unique stories through their applications.
Outside of work, I enjoy practicing yoga and spending time with my husband and our two young sons.
Bachelor of Arts: Rutgers University
Master of Education: Harvard Graduate School of Education
“Monica helped me navigate the US admission process from scratch without prior knowledge or experience of how the system works. Despite this challenging background, Monica’s mentorship was exceptional. She helped me identify colleges that best fit my academic needs as well as other critical preferences. With her guidance, I was able to put together an application that reflected my best qualities and earned me an admission at a handful of the best liberal arts schools in the US.”

“As a student with little-to-no knowledge of the application process to US universities, Monica’s guidance was invaluable in my journey to starting my academic career abroad. Applying to US colleges from Syria was difficult in and of itself. With limited information and resources, I was unable to grasp what was necessary to, not only prepare a physical application, but also be mentally and emotionally prepared for life as an international student in the US. As an experienced advisor, Monica was able to customize advice and guidance for my specific needs starting from choosing universities to getting my visa and starting my studies in the US. She pinpointed gaps and provided feedback perfectly even in a virtual setting. Looking back, I realize that this initial phase was key in all my accomplishments that followed.“
