Shari Schussel is the Director of UCEazy’s Xcellerator Program for students in grades 8-10. She is also the lead counselor of this program. As the lead counselor, she hires, manages and promotes professional development for the counselors on her team. One of Shari’s goals is to develop a highly collaborative team culture where counselors leverage each other’s skills and experiences.
She is passionate about student development and helping them maximize their potential. Her holistic approach takes a student’s unique situations into account, and she believes in involving parents in the process.
She has worked with high school students and their families for more than 10 years. For eight of those years, she worked as a counselor at Monta Vista High School, one of the strongest math and science schools in California. While at Monta Vista, she guided students through the college process to help them gain admissions into top Ivy League schools, MIT, CalTech, and CMU.
Shari has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Educational Counseling, along with a California Pupil Personnel Services Credential. She enjoys spending time with her two young children and living in the Bay Area with her husband.
