Stephen has 30+ years of experience in education serving in various roles such as AP English teacher and College Counselor and is passionate about supporting student writing development. His extensive knowledge has been passed on through his professorship at the prestigious UC Counseling Certification Program.
As a graduate of English at Pitzer College, I am passionate about the art of supporting students in writing and development. Currently, my work has led me through teaching AP English to understanding the impact of writing and the art of storytelling as a college counselor. Currently, I enjoy my work as an adjunct professor at two community colleges in Los Angeles.
I am passionate about students’ journey towards college success. My goal is to be accessible and accepting while teaching writing.
Outside of work, my family and I are involved in the arts in Los Angeles. My wife was the Executive Director of the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles and our son is a visual artist and is the Chair of the Visual Art Department of the Oakland School for Art.
