My mission is to be a resource for connecting leadership opportunities to the student college admissions process by guiding students in understanding the importance of internships, jobs, and other opportunities to the college admissions process and beyond. I have implemented and managed career-related programs in four colleges with the goal of helping students become employable.
In my recent role at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a STEM based college in New York, I provided the strategic plan to create an employer-relations department for supporting a new internship program, which focused on gaining and leveraging leadership experiences in the STEM field into well-paid, successful careers at companies, like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Google, Apple, and many more.
I believe those who secured successful careers had started developing their expertise at a young age by intentionally choosing internships, extracurricular and leadership opportunities, and attending schools that enriched access to their field of study.
In my corporate roles within technology and consulting in the Bay Area, I built and managed university recruitment relationships for internships and experiences that met hiring needs. This taught me what companies and colleges are looking for in developing the “whole student” in today’s competitive college and job market.
I look forward to working with students to support them in the telling of their unique stories, while helping them build competitive advantages in the admissions process. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and taking advantage of living ten miles from Laguna Beach! I also enjoy poetry, travel, and finding interesting restaurants.
